About the College

 

Nesamony Memorial Christian College, Marthandam is located in Kanyakumari District of TamilNadu. It is a prestigious academic and research institution that caters to the student’s academic and personal development. by providing a highly professional and open-minded education rooted in ethics and values. In 1868, Rev. James Emlyn, an LMS Missionary from New Castle, U.K, bought the land where the college is located. In 1910. Rev. Robert. Sinclair, who succeeded Rev. James Emlyn, built a bungalow and started a Boarding School on the campus measuring 32 acres. In 1964, Kanyakumari Diocese of the Church of South India started the Christian College Marthandam. In the year 1991, the college became an affiliated college of the newly formed Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. At present student, strength is 3507 and 185 teaching and 99 non-teaching staff are working in the college.
