Impact Factor (IF)

Journal impact factor is regularly used as a pointer of the value of a journal to its field. It was introduced by Eugene Garfield, the founder of the Institute for Scientific Information.

IF of a journal is not connected to the factors like quality of review process and quality of content of the journal, but is an assessment that reflects the average number of citations to articles published in the journal.
