Breast Cancer Awareness among Girls’ Hostel Students - VHNSNC, 2018

An Educational and Research-Awareness Extension of Cell Biology

Academic Background

As part of the academic study of Cell Biology, the topic of Cancer provided the foundation for extending classroom-based learning into a community-oriented health-awareness activity.

Building on this academic topic, a Breast Cancer Awareness assessment was undertaken among girls’ hostel students at V.H.N. Senthikumara Nadar College (Autonomous), Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, India. The activity was designed to provide an educational understanding of breast cancer, Breast Self-Examination (BSE), and awareness of related screening practices.

This initiative demonstrates how a fundamental topic in Cell Biology can be extended beyond theoretical learning into practical educational and community-health awareness.
